Comprehensive protection of the metal jet from oxidation

Inserts and liners in the mold MKRV-340 is made of refractory fiber a mullite-siliceous composition, produced by melting pure aluminum and silicon oxides in an electric furnace with subsequent fiber formation by blowing. To give the material strength, an organic binder is added to the fiber, the products are formed by vacuum pressing.
Inserts MKRV-340 are used for thermal insulation of the main part of ingots of round, square, rectangular and polygonal sections. The products have a design for easy installation in a pouring mold or pouring form, income extensions are opposite or fixed with glue, and/or mechanical fasteners, staples. During installation, possible linear or volume shrinkage during heating is taken into account.

The fibers are chemically resistant to acids and alkalis. When used at high temperatures, it should be protected from the effects of concentrated alkalis, hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids.
Fibers are more resistant to temperature effects in oxidizing and neutral environments.
In a reducing environment, thermal insulation properties decrease.
