Comprehensive protection of the metal jet from oxidation

Ceramic fiber felt is made from fibers of mullite-silica composition, produced by melting pure aluminum and silicon oxides in an electric furnace, followed by fiber formation using the blowing method. To give the material strength and elasticity, a binder is added to the fibers. After heat treatment, the material gains strength.
Zirconium or chromium oxides are added to the melt to increase the operating temperature of the felt.
Rolled felt is a fairly strong, flexible and elastic insulating material. It is easy to cut, trim with a knife and shape as required. It can be bonded to a rigid base using inorganic adhesives or fixed with metal fasteners.
Properties
The fibers are chemically resistant to acids and alkalis. When used at high temperatures, exposure to concentrated alkalis, hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acid should be avoided.
The material is more resistant to temperature effects in oxidizing and neutral environments. In a reducing environment, its thermal insulation properties decrease.
