Refractory heat-insulating plates: application temperature and area of use

   Both characteristics are important, both for refractories and for refractory thermal insulation. At the same time, the high operating temperature of thermal insulation does not guarantee its widespread use.

This type of product is characterized as a material with a maximum application temperature of 1150°С and a density of up to 340 kg/m³. But the high temperature of use is characteristic of the main component. - Multi-silica fiber. The presence of a binder limits   scope of application of plates. MKRP-340 is a high-temperature (refractory) thermal insulation for the intermediate (protected) lining zone of thermal units.

  Products MKRV-340 are produced on the basis of MKRV fiber. The last letter in the marking gives an understanding of the difference between the products.  In this case, we are considering multi-silica inserts. According to GOSTa  the tab (insert) is used once to insulate the ingot. The task of the product is to slow down the cooling process of the steel ingot, which entails the reduction of the shrinkage shell.  

   The clay plate received a greater range of application (the presence of refractory clay from 40% to 60%). The presence of this type of binder allows you to use the material both in the intermediate and in the working (unprotected) area of the lining. This category includes mullitosilica MKRPG-400  and mullitosilica cardboard MKRK-500. Under the influence of the high temperature of the heating furnace, sintering occurs. At the same time, the fire-resistant fiber acts as thermal insulation and reinforcing material.

Heat-treated SHPGT-450 withstands maximum loads from fiber boards. Plates are initially intended to work in the high (maximum) temperature zone. The properties of these plates are provided by the firing process (1200°C) directly during the production of products.

   More versatile are plates made of ceramic fiber «LUYANGWOOL».

Refractory material LUTX (LUGX) of this segment is not subject to high-temperature processing during production. At the same time, we have exact linear and geometric dimensions. The content of binding material (fasteners) is minimal.

All heat-insulating materials of the plate group have a low heat capacity, low thermal conductivity, high strength and a long service life.
