Gland stuffing AS is one of the brands of asbestos sealing cords manufactured according to GOST 5152-84, which are recommended for use in static conditions. Stuffing of the oil seal AS - non-graphitized dry - works in neutral chemical conditions: air, water, steam, as well as aggressive environments: oil products, ammonia, other active substances. Operates at temperatures up to +450 °C (depending on the type of medium), has a frost resistance of -70 °C. Such stuffing is used only for fittings and fixed aggregate connections with relatively low pressure, the permissible level of which is 5 MPa, for heat insulation purposes and for sealing.

Asbestos sealants AS can have different weaving - single-layer, multi-layer, through, depending on which they differ in the shape of the diameter - square or round. The method of weaving also determines the size of these sections. The norms of the standard are determined for single-layer and through-layer - from 4*4 to 28*28 mm, for multi-layer - it is 16*16 - 50*50 millimeters.
